This is part 5 of the 10 part sermon series on The Lord's Prayer.
This is an in-depth look at the teaching on the Lord's Prayer that will enrich your prayer life. It will take a look at the depth of the prayer as derived from the Hebrew Matthew interpretation and the different phrasing it provides. Jesus was instructing His fellow Jews in a style of prayer and in so doing, He used phrases that they would understand. Some of the phrases had inadequate translations to the Greek and may have lost a little meaning in the translation.
These videos are based upon the book, A Prayer To Our Father, from which I developed a sermon/teaching series. The book was written by Nehemiah Gordon and Keith Johnson. Together, this Jewish Bible scholar and African American pastor sought to uncover the deeper meaning of the "Lord's Prayer" and if possible, to discover the spot in Galilee where Jesus taught the disciples to pray. I enjoyed the book so much that I thought I should share it here.
